Sew on Sew Forth is hosting it’s first Iron Quilting Competition! We are very excited about this event since not only will there be there the quilting competition, but also a silent auction during it that boasts a lot of our beautifully quilted quilts, runners, purses, and more. There has been A TON of interest in this and spots are filling up fast! Don’t miss your chance to join — top prize is a Brother sewing machine. Can you believe it’s February already! I’m still waiting for Winter to start. We’ve been busy in the shop since after Christmas. We started inventory in January and we were thrilled to finally be done, until we noticed discrepancies in our equipment and it all has to get recounted manually! The thrill is gone! lol
We are keeping our sanity by concentrating on our upcoming classes and planning the Spring retreat. It’s time for us to have a weekend of “me” time and some fun with our Embroiderers/Quilting buddies. There are some fun things and classes planned for our weekend. We are still trying to decide what the contest challenge will be, but we will let everyone who is going to the retreat, know in plenty of time.
Now back to classes. Colleen is whipping out class samples in short order, but Karen is giving her a run for her money, and making some nice samples as well. A lot of them are on
display in the shop. One of the samples Karen did was a Chenille wall hanging using two of the same panel for the project. There will be a class for making the Chenille wall hanging in March. Diana will be doing some classes, and one of them will be a quilt, using a Serger. We added a Table Runner of the month class and a Paper Piecing Class. You’ll find more information on all the classes on our website. Come on in and pay us a visit. Karen, Fran, Amy, and I would happy to see you. Our Two greeters, Pitbull, and Lao Ho will be waiting at the door to meet you. Diane.

I’ve put up the new Class schedule for January and February. We have general descriptions on some of the classes, but I will have complete descriptions of the patterns soon.
Here we are, almost on the last week before Christmas. Has anyone gotten they’re sewing done? I have so many gifts to make and I haven’t even started. Talk about procrastination! I still have to make Christmas cutout cookies. Wegmans has the land o lakes cookie dough buckets. I could go with that option, but I feel guilty for not making homemade.
We have a tendency of trying to do way to much that we don’t have a chance to relax and enjoy the holiday. So a bucket of cookie dough isn’t so bad. Or paring down on the sewing and just buy a gift will give us the time to enjoy ourselves.
We have a lot of great new classes planned for the new year so I want to see you sign up for some. It’ll be a great way to beat the winter blues!

Retreat

I’m so glad everyone made it to the retreat!! We had a great crowd as usual, and a lot of you even stuck around to help pack it in again. Thank you to all for coming and making it so fun and enjoyable, and an even bigger Thank You to those that arrived early to help us set up.
